The church is a Grade I Listed building located on a site that posed particular challenges given constrained access through the graveyard, a clay sub-soil and the presence of known graves. The brief was for an extension on the north side of the Nave that was to be fully accessible and a heating upgrade designed to act independently of the new building. The west end of the Nave was also to be reordered. Augured piles and a reinforced concrete ground beam foundation were installed to support the flint faced walls with stone dressings, beneath a black glazed pantile roof. The Practice acted as Lead Consultant and worked closely with other specialists to achieve a sympathetic, practical and cost effective solution.
