Halesworth Middle School
Client: Suffolk County Council
Having achieved special educational status for science, Halesworth Middle School recognised the need to refurbish both their existing science laboratories and sub-standard changing and shower facilities. OWL Architects had previously been involved with other projects at the school and were invited to return and oversee the refurbishment. The works were to be undertaken during normal school hours and with minimum disturbance to the curriculum. The sequencing of the work was paramount particularly as one of the changing rooms was retained in use while the other was being completed. Asbestos was found and removed in a fully controlled manner without adversely affecting the school’s operation.
