Client: The Benacre Estate
The proposal was to create four, free hold workshops with associated offices on a site previously used for industrial purposes. Largely involving conversion and refurbishment of existing structures an additional unit was formed by the enclosure of an open fronted storage area. Following negotiation with the LPA a new pedestrian and cycle path link through adjacent woodland was formed including a bridge over an existing watercourse. The concerns of local residents were overcome through a series of consultations at which the practice presented the proposals and answered questions. OWL Architects has also been involved with a number of other commercial conversion projects for the client.
